Let's go Sharks!
Well folks, like I said earlier in the week, it's (NIFL) football season! That's right, the Charleston Sandsharks (2-1) kickoff their home opener against the Greensboro Revolution this Saturday. The Revolution will be looking to avenge their previous 45-28 loss.
I've had a rollercoaster of a decision process on whether or not to attend.
'Home opener, 5 hours of tailgating.. ya damn right I'll be there!'
'Man, I really should study for boards.. sorry yall.'
But then I heard a rumor that won't let me miss this one. It turns out one of my fellow high school alumni has tried out and acquired the position as the official Charleston Sandshark mascot. Good ole Abbott (aka Abbitty Abbitty Abbitty Abbott, aka Houdini, aka Apocalypse, Acropolis.. what's the difference?) will be leading our cheers this Saturday and I'll be there to witness it.
Go Sharks! Go Abbott!

I followed you over from the comment you left on my blog. I've been reading some of your archives, I love finding new blogs that interest me...
I never did find a burrito recipe though...
I'll take that as a compliment. Actually the burrito recipes and other domestic issues will be coming soon in a new section of the blog.
:)
I meant it as so
I was j/k about the burrito recipe but...as long as you're gonna post it... I'll definitely need to check it out ;)
Oh and thanks for the link.
Soon as I get through my current renovations, I'll put yours up as well.
God bless the Abbott! That kid is in the zone right now. He can do no wrong. I was once asked, "If you could do it all over again, would you be a bit nicer to Abbott in high school ?" So I says "Look Mr. Staggs, take off the mask and put down the gun, I know it's you." Kudos to you Abbott! You got my support. Also this burrito recipe you speak of has me salivating like a fat kid waiting for a burrito recipe. Haste makes waste.
all in due time... all in due time..
No scotch for me, I'm in training. Although there is a wine tasting tonight..
There's always room for scotch......accompanied with some steaks.
I think I see a slight bias in this blog. I know I'm a little late in the game here but I just wanted to point out that the loudest, most bad ass stadium, the real Death Valley, was ranked 15th and if my Clemson math serves me right that would be 3 better than USC...
whoops...wrong one, but I still have a valid point, and while I'm here, Way to go Abbott!
Being at the Clemson/FSU game in 1999 I can first hand testify that Memorial Staduim can seat well over 77,381 people. Maybe not comfortably, but it is done on a regualar basis. And while we may not be set in the thriving metropolis that is Columbia, SC I wouldn't underestimate the loyalty and devotion of a Clemson Redneck to travel many hours to Pickens as they may not have much else going on out in their cow pastures.
"Florida was loud in the swamp. But, the loudest, not only the stadium, but the loudest place I have ever been around in my life was definitely Death Valley. I was yelling at the top of my lungs in that first series and I couldn't even hear what I was saying. My voice was gone after the second series, so we had to signal everything. That place was unreal in how loud it was. I don't think I will ever be in a louder place than Clemson."
~ FSU QB Chris Rix
You see, my initial comment was only intended to show that Clemson needed to be mentioned in this blog as its stadium, no matter what the exact figures are, is large, and there is no denying it is larger than USC's. And while in 10 years maybe USC will be able to surpass Clemson in seating capacity, who knows, by then maybe we'll all be living on the moon and this will all be a moot point. I am speaking in the present tense.
I'd just like to say two things here:
1. Go Abbott!!
2. Memorial stadium was mentioned in the blog.. just click on the 'asymmetrical valley' link.
